Midnight snack survey

So last night I had the rare craving to go and finish off the end of the salad leftover from dinner.

Now ignoring all that is potentially wrong with eating 400 calories outside of one's usual established patterns (so tasty though).... it was exactly at midnight.

Which day would you log that under?

Do you add it to the day that clearly made you hungry (and or daft) enough to do that? Or do you lump it on to the day just starting where you might have the aspirations of making up for it?

Well in this case I suspect it was for two days prior where there was an extra 1000 deficit. 0_o so as a week on whole all is well... but I'm interested in how most people would cope.

400cal worth of SALAD? That's a lot of greens!

I would log it on the previous day, then split up the 400 over the rest of the week to create a small deficit daily (this making up for 100ish cal/day).

it wasn't just greens there were also bocconcini, tomato, corn, walnuts, balsamic vinaigrette... all sorts of tasty stuff. But yeah, it wasn't small either I'm not gonna lie. :-D

I have a Nighttime meal entry. Midnight's technically the start of the next day so there you have it. I might sometimes try to "hang in there" to let a snack spill over to the next day if I'll be working out. Totally unnecessary, obviously, but it's just a thing I do.

I just end my day whenever I go to sleep. If that's 2am, well then, that's when the logging ends. The next day starts when I wake up. I keep it simple. If it goes over the calorie limit, oh well. Maybe I'll just have to make sure I'm a bit under the next day.

^^ This. My day is when I'm awake and end when I go to sleep. The actual time on the wall (or the phone or pute or whatever) doesn't really matter.
