I'm new. I'm B, and I'm 26. I've had more food issues than you could shake a stick at, formerly a compulsive overeater, and probably eternally stuck in the limbo of ED-NOS. I've been heavy for years, and I've yo-yoed. I'm in school for dental assisting, which has really helped me lose weight from 250 down to 218, just with the running around and the schedule of school, but I need help to lose more.

According to my doctor I'm borderline diabetic, but currently don't have health insurance, and my doctor explicitly told me not to change my diet, just to take a pill that hated me. You can guess how that went. Um...what else. I love to garden, I have a pet cat, and love sci-fi?

So yeah, hi.

Welcome "B", I'm Cheryl. We're here to support you! I'm not entirely sure what "ED-NOS" is and if I should be scared or glad?? LOL
  • Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. It's basically where doctors shove you if you're not anorexic, bulimic, or a compulsive overeater, but still have a very strange relationship with food, or eating disorder habits. In my case, squirreling away snacks, forgetting to eat, eating things in a certain order, making sure foods don't touch, etc. I'm working on it. LOL.

Doctors always want to shove a pill down your throat. A healthy diet and a multivitamin will do just fine. Feel free to add me as a friend if you like.

Your Dr is an idiot if he doesn't want you to change your diet to help with this problem! You really should find another Dr who is committed to you and not to modern science and big pharma!!

I have multiple friends and family members who control full-blown type-2 diabetes thru diet alone w/o any help from big pharma and any Dr who tries to tell you otherwise is either a fool or is getting kickbacks someplace down the line!
