Okay so I had weighed myself yesterday and it said 122.4 lbs. This was just after eating dinner. I wanted to see how much of a difference there was if I weighed myself in the morning, before eating or drinking anything and after going to the bathroom. So, I did that and it says 115.3.
Is it really possible for that much of a difference, being weighed on an empty stomach?
((The title just seemed to fit. Lol))

Yes.
Yes, what?0 -
A big glass of water weighs a pound. A big dinner can weigh over a pound. 7 pounds seems like a lot, but not extraordinary.
That being said, no reason to not change your scale's battery, if you're concerned.0 -

Yes, it's possible to see that much of a change in weight. Per your last post, you may be focusing too much on your weight.0 -

I'm kind of just debating whether or not to update MFP with this measurement.0 -

You're 5'10" (according to your profile). Where is this going?0 -

I do not quite understand the question. Sorry, I'm still half-asleep.0 -
Ummm.....food and liquids, etc have mass. If you weighed after dinner, you're not only weighing dinner...you're weighing breakfast, snacks, lunch, anything you've had to drink, all of the waste in your system, etc.
Is this even for real?0 -

Why would I lie? I'm just trying to ask a question.0 -
Yikes, another anorexia thread. Get help for your eating disorder. Aiming to be severely underweight (target BMI of 14) is extremely unhealthy and will kill you.0

for consistency, I always weigh myself first thing in the morning naked. that way I know its not food I've just eaten0

I'm just asking a question as to if it could be accurate.
Just never f*cking mind.
Everyone can just ignore this damn thread.0 -
what type of scale are you using? sometimes the electronic ones are extremely fickle and standing on them differently or using them in a different place on the floor will sometimes give you different readings.0

I have an electronic one and... Non-electronic one ((I don't know what the proper name would be XD)).
After my parents wake up I'm going to try the non-electronic one, even though it adds 3 lbs lol
When nothing's on it, it rests at 3 instead of 0.0 -
it's definitely possible to have that much of a fluctuation, especially weighing yourself at two different points in the day. also wearing different types of clothing/shoes play a big part too. I typically weigh myself in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. but if I were to hop on the scale dressed for work or something, there is easily a 5 lb difference. I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you. just try to use the same scale, in the same location, at the same time of day wearing the same thing and you should be gold.
I wouldn't put a lot of emphasis on the scale if I were in your shoes. maybe weigh in once or twice a week.0 -

I'm not talking about you lieing...I'm wondering if you really don't understand that everything you consume throughout the day has mass and thus weight...it's a pretty basic principle and I'm a bit dumbfounded that you don't seem to understand that. That's why pretty much everyone weighs themselves in the morning after they've had a good **** and haven't eaten or drank anything...otherwise you're weighing all of that other mass.
Pretty basic....and also, yeah...you're pretty underweight for your height and trying to lose weight...that's why people are making the assumption that this is another of the numerous pro-ana threads around here. I am inclined to agree.0 -

I do understand. I'm a bit of a dork, but I'm not stupid.
I was just asking a question.
I supplied my weight because it is the only measurement relevant to the question.
Others looked at my profile to see my height and assume I am anorexic. I wasn't even mentioning an ED in my original comment.
Im just asking a simple question. I thought that this could possibly be a safe place where I wouldn't be judged by things people only assume. I was just asking a f*cking question.0 -
Please don't judge me off of your assumptions, fellow MFPers.0

Your comment was totally and completely uncalled for, as well as immature.
Anyways, it might be time for you to get a new digital scale. There's tons on amazon that are super precise and only a .4 +/- difference.0 -
Your curiosity about how much you weight before and after you eat... is in fact very normal... and don't let anyone tell you differently..
Yet, it really isn't important... to the overall diet.
Even if the scale is off it doesn't matter since what you should really be concerned about is whether you feel and look healthier.
In airborne survival school they say you should always have two compasses because after being lost -- for a while -- it is normal to start questioning yourself about the accuracy of your first compass. So if you believe your first scale is acting fickle… get a new one they are cheap…0
