Slow weight loss need advice and help!

I hope this topic is different from any others, I have tried to read other posts to resolve my topic but no luck.
Hi, I am new here so not much info is on my page but I have been manually logging my food in a diary for 19 days. But I started my journey 7 days prior.
I had started on the 10th of Feb but started logging on the 17th of Feb, On average I eat 1,240.5 calories a day.
So far:
Goal is to lose 19 more lbs to be 107lbs.
I am 5'3
Weight lost: 1lb 3/4
Inches lost:
Thighs (both together) 0.9
Hips 0.5
Waist 0
My exercise is a little low I probably burn about 300-400 calories a week. Doing power walking or short 30 min cardio sessions.
According to MFP I should lose a lb a week but I'm losing half a pound a week. Will that extra 200 calories lost in a workout help or what am I doing wrong. I don't eat junk food or soda, no lamb, beef or pork. Most protein is from fish. I eat on average 4.2 fruit/veg a day.
Thanks!

Half a pound a week is not bad or slow at all! If it's bothering you, though, I very highly recommend upping your exercise. I usually aim to burn around 200-300 with exercise a day, not a week. Try taking an hour long walk every day, or finding some cardio videos you like that you can do every day.

When you have so little to lose, 1/2 pound a week is a good rate of loss. It just takes patience. You don't say how tall you are, but 107 pounds is pretty small unless you're 5'3" or shorter.

Sounds like you have the eating and logging part down cold. Congratulations! Awesome. This is the hardest part.

I would add a lot of exercise - cardio x3 weight training x3 a week. This will rev up your metabolism and accelerate weight loss. Might want to increase your vegetables - super lo cal, super good for you with all kinds of nutrients.

    Good luck!

The less you have to lose the slower you lose it. Do you have a deficit every day? I would try to burn far more than you are burning. Exercise regardless of what it is burns calories and boosts the metabolism. How is your water intake? Drink lots of water at least 8 glasses a day. At 1240 you may be not eating enough. If your body thinks you need more calories the metabolism slows to preserve calories. It could be any of a combination of problems. However I don't think you should really be expecting to lose more than 5-6 lbs a month and that would be pushing it at your weight. How tall are you?

    I drink about a litre a day, sometimes 750mls.
More recently ive been getting to 900 cals and its 8pm and still satisfied, since ive cut out most meat its hard to add those extra calories, could you suggest anything?
    I am 5'3 nearly 5'4.

Hmm, I can't really be in the gym, im an art student at college and volunteer for a thift store and looking for part time work so my time is limited and I get so tired at the end of the day from about 3 hours of travelling back and forth from college.
How long would you recommend the sessions to be? Does it have to be very high intensity (i hate sweating D:) or?

Actually, you're doing pretty good weight loss wise. Are you weighing your food? I know . . . I know . . . you're tired of hearing that, but it truly does make a big difference.

Also, I would compare the MFP calories burned to another calorie calculator website. The MFP calories seem to be set about 1.5 - 2 times higher than other calorie calculators. I put the calories burned in manually from http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc because the calories burned seem a lot closer to the calories on the cardio machines, and a lot more realistic.

I would set it to 0.5lb per week. Since you are already at a healthy BMI, it is going to be very difficult for you to lose weight more quickly than that.

To put it in perspective, one pound is 0.8% of your body weight. For someone that weighs 250, that would be 2lbs per week, which is more than most people advice to lose on a week in/week out basis.

I'm also 53 and trying to get to about 107. My Fitness allots me 1200 calories a day so I personally do not think that you are not eating enough calories. I'm a photographer who just finished college myself so I understand the commuting, the stress, and the tiredness involved in your schedule. As long as you are not stress eating or grabbing unhealthy things out of the college vending machines you seem like you are heading in the right direction.

What my husband has used successfully in the past and what we are trying now is the Military 3 Day Diet. It helps kickstart your metabolism and get some weight off if you are stagnating. I have NO nutritional experience and am ONLY saying this works for us and has worked for many other people. Here's a link if you would like to try it.

Ah ok, thanks for the advice!
