ive been reading about exercise and weightloss and apperently you need to be burning off more than your eating, is this correct? and if so can someone explain?

Read this. It's very helpful.
I reread your question and I'm confused. Are you asking if you need to burn, through exercise, more calories than you're eating?0 -
Burning off more than you're eating is just what you do when you're losing weight., exercising or not.
Food supplies energy, generally measured in calories
It's all about input and output
If, for example you eat 2000 calories but burn 3000 doing whatever then you've lost 1000 calories, pretty much that simple
Burning or using calories while attempting to lose weight is a good thing.
Any unused energy/calories are stored in the body for later use often as fat.
Exercise and activity in general just increases calorie burn
This is a very basic way of putting it though.
If that's a recent pic of you on the right side of your profile pic, I really don't think you need to lose anymore weight.0 -
who cares bout the numbers.... youre HOT!0

You look great! I would seriously say you are ready for maintenance not further loss (my opinion not meant to be mean or anything) Great work OP! :flowerforyou:
edit - sorry I guess I should have maybe said something to answer your question? A lot will depend on your settings? Have you recalculated your BMR lately with your current weight? Are you set at sedentary? Active? MFP will calculate your calories based on your settings - If you have your activity level set at sedentary you should be entering your exercise and this will increase your calories that you can eat on those days. Your daily calories are set by MFP based on information provided by you and will set your intake at a deficit in order to lose weight. You don't have to exercise to burn the amount of calories you eat - it is actually the opposite - the more you exercise the more fuel your body will need - I wouldn't eat back all exercise calorie but I would eat back some.0 -

and you are just so subtle...
OP to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficet.
that is done with restricting your intake and/or exercise.
But no you don't want to burn more than you take in. If you did that you would be at 0 and you need food to fuel your workouts...and function.
You have your
BMR (Basal Metobolic Rate) is the amount of energy expressed in calories that a person needs to keep the body functioning at rest.
then you have TDEE Total Daily Energy Expenditure which is your BMR+exercise calories.
When eating at TDEE you will maintain your weight...
So you can see if you burn off everything you eat you don't have enough energy for other basic functions such as basic living...you will be weak, fatigued and bad things will start happening..0
