How fit should I be before starting Insanity?

I want to get started on it this summer, and in the meantime I'm trying to train up to a fitness level that will allow me to at least complete the workouts, even if it totally wipes me out. I'm 127 pounds but I have had a bad few months with exercise, so I'm not as in shape as I once was. Right now I'm trying to work my way back up to doing pushups with good form and improve my endurance through cardio. Where should I be before getting started? I don't want to give up because I can't keep up with the program.
