headaches & nausea after exercise since car accident

Has anyone else dealt with similar issues? Two years ago I was in great shape, able to run a 5k, lost all baby weight, the most fit I'd ever been, and just felt great. Then, I was involved in a 4 car pile up at a red light where some jerk didn't stop and plowed into me and 2 other cars that were completely stopped. I had some neck and back tissue trauma, severe whiplash, I was out of work for nearly a month, and I'm pretty sure my back is out of alignment. I can't lie down flat on my back, it feels like there's a weird curve right above my bottom.

Any who, I gained back everything I worked so hard to lose. Now when I exercise, I always end up with a horrible throbbing headache and some brutal nausea. Also, during exercise like jogging or jumping, it feels like my brain is just bouncing around, slamming up against my skull. It is very hard to try to better myself again with I feel like such crap during and after.

Is this something I need to consult my doctor with? I never had these issues before the car accident.

This is a doctor issue. Not us ametuers on here :)

I hope you feel better soon, when you get the help you need :)

    Definitely consult your doctor.

Unfortunately for me, they didn't do anything.

I fell off the back of a vertical bike at around 60-70mph (messed up a wheelie) with a slightly ill fitting helmet, I rolled along the floor on my head. (Apparently the bike burst into flames for a second and looked quite impressive, while when I stopped rolling I got up and was picking bits of it up - I don't remember any of this - next thing I knew I was standing by the side of the road with worried friends around.)
Had a killer headache after, which eased down over a week.
However, any serious exercise getting my heart rate up properly for about a year or so and I got headaches.
At some point it petered out and I've been fine since.

I did ask for a Cat Scan, but all I got was an X-Ray - and was happy enough my skull wasn't broken without that.

I presumed there was some internal bruising/other damage, possibly causing blood to be getting out in to bits it shouldn't be - and thus getting the heart rate up would see more of it.

Not sure about where you are, but in the UK the legal people would be beating each other up to find out what was wrong and charging it all to the other person's insurance.

I am NOT a doctor--I'm an EMT--but it sounds like you might have gotten a concussion that hasn't healed yet. Have you been having trouble reading or concentrating at all? It could easily be something else neurological, but that's just something that occurred to me. Headache and nausea are associated with concussion at the time of injury; I don't know as much about after.

DEFINITELY go see a doctor, and take it easy on things that move your head until then!
