I am aware that eating fried foods is not always the healthy option especially if addiing fat / oil to cook it.
Ia there anyone there can advise me how you obtain the calorific values of frying say bacon. If you have say a 45g rasher of bacon and you add 5 mls of veg oil, is it the same as any recipe ie add the ingredients and then divide buy the number of portions, or is there another way bearing in mind a lot of water etc leaves the bacon on cooking.

    I just add the oil and it gets divided by the number of portions. Yes you may not consume it all but there's always some error in calorie counting

    I've wondered this too.
    It's not as if adding 20mL of olive oil when cooking a steak is ingested post cooking.

    Yes just add it up & divide by portions, use raw weight

    Or you could try & grill bacon, same calories for the bacon but none added for frying, and as you will see, plenty of fat left in grill pan.

    Same goes for sausages

    But nothing beats a fried egg sandwich :wink:
