Hello everyone. I have "finished" C25K and I need an opinion. Using the word "finished" is to say that I completed the 8 week program but not the challenge. I have yet to actually run a 5K. I have been slowly increasing my time and speed on the treadmill but it is slow going. The weather is finally warming a little and I can actually run outside. (So excited.) It is 2.3 miles around my block twice. I finished this for the first time Friday with a time of 30:35. Today is my day to run and my question is should I concentrate on decreasing my time or should I increase my distance. I know at this stage I cannot make it a full 3 times around but obviously it would put me closer to my goal of running a 5K. Any opinions or advise is appreciated.

Personally, I would opt for the run around the block. You did it on Friday, and it was fine I take it.0

Don't worry about your speed or in reality even your distance, You've run it once so do it a couple more times then increase your time by 5 minutes. Rinse and repeat. Speed comes in time once you have built up some endurance so just keep going.0

Run 2 1/4 laps?
I ' day run for thw 30 mins, then turn around and walk back home.
And no matter how slow you run, you're still lapping everyone on the couch.0 -
I would give the the third lap a try, maybe stopping a quarter or halfway and then walk the rest. Each week go a little farther. I wouldn't be too concerned about how fast you go. Endurance first, then speed!

When I finished C25K I wasn't running the 5k either. I just ran for an extra 5 minutes each time until I made the distance. As others have said, don't worry about speed, that improves naturally over time, just keep running.
And a huge well done on completing C25K!!0
