Ruby Tuesdays Fit & Trim Menu

Hi all,

So I have always enjoyed Ruby Tuesdays because of it's Fit & Trim menu, which are all under 700 calories. However, my question is this: when looking at the nutrition info for other menu items, there are PLENTY that are under 700 calories but aren't marked as a fit and trim item. Some are understandable (for example, the fish tacos are just under 700 calories but it's part of a combo with the salad bar, where the calories consumed are not under the restaurants control). On the other hand, the blackened tilapia is one of the lowest calorie items but isn't marked as fit & trim.

Does anyone know why? My guess is that the fit & trim items include sides as veggies while the others still have your choice of sides....But you can change the sides anyway so I'm not sure why they wouldn't just mark it as a healthier item?

Edit: Realizing now this should be in the Food & Nutrition thread but oh well...my apologies.

  • Probably to trick people into eating higher calorie foods! MUAHAHAHA. You should write to Ruby Tuesdays and ask them why?

I have notice this at other restaurants too and I think why? but I honestly think it's like you said, you have no other options when you pick the fit and trim meal where the others you can add a high calorie side, or hit the salad bar and load up on high calories... they they'd be accused of false advertising or something crazy. BUT since you know that you have more options just go with it and pick your sides wisely and you'll much more choices which is a great plus!
