So, I've been at this for 140 days now. That's what, 4.66 months? Although that's a good jump start, it's really not that long of time in the whole scheme of things.
Yet, the progress one can make in that short period of time is pretty amazing when I compare to where I was at the end of October last year.
I've lost now around 60 lbs (official weigh-in comes Tuesday) in that time. My "special diet" has consisted of eating whatever I to choose to eat, so long as I stay within my daily caloric goals and logging everything I eat.
In that time here's a few other highlights of my journey besides losing 60 lbs:
My blood pressure has normalized.
I've dropped a couple of clothes sizes.
My self-confidence is returning.
The way other people few me is changing (sad but true).
My back problems have subsided.
My cardio rate when exercising is under control.
I'm actually doing intermittent jogging while walking now, which would of seemed like a dream to me a few mos ago.
I can walk very fast and longer distances without having to stop now.
I can slide into restaurant booths without needing a tow truck to pull me out.
I have inspired other people I know to start exercising and losing weight.
I can say NO to food binge impulses.
And...I'm actually looking forward to summer!
The list could go on and on. However, you all catch my drift ;-) Although I have a ways to go, my point is that you CAN make real progress (even in short periods of time) in this battle of the bulge, if you apply yourself and don't give up. Never give up!
Cheers!
