How often should you workout?

I've started incorporating weight training to my schedule and I want to see results and not hurt myself. I workout every day at lunch for 45 minutes (normally cardio only) then on Saturdays, 20 minutes cardio, weights (deadlifts, cable pulls, burpees etc etc) then back to cardio for another 20/30 minutes. I also walk about 45 minutes every day. Am I doing enough? I've lost 8 pounds over the last month, but as you know the scale goes up and down every day. Right now I'm 200 pounds and 5'4.

Would love some good advice. I don't have cheat days, I feel I should be able to eat in moderation and stay under my calorie goal. Learning about macros more.. I'm now eating between 1860 and 2100 calories a day. (TDEE is 2550(according to the IIFYM calculator)

Thank you!

sounds like you're doing a good amount, but if i were you, i'd cut back on the cardio, and do more weights.

a friend of mine does about 45-60 minutes of strength training 4 days a week. she walks about two hours a day, back and forth to work. and maybe on the weekend she'll go for a run.

    it's worked wonders for her.

Find whatever "split" works for you. My current split is 3 days, so I lift weights 3 days, and take a 2 day rest then it's back to the same workout. I do about 20 min of cardio on those days and on some occasions, I'll do cardio on my rest days. I find that this has worked best for me while offering the most flexibility.
