Is there really a difference?

I always feel undermined when I go to look for an effective weight loss strength training routine and have to decide whether I want a "men" or "women" routine. Is there really a big difference? I am woman (hear me roar) but do I honestly have to settle for the theory behind what I'm supposed to be doing in the gym?

I don't personally think so.
I do Stronglifts 5x5 which was "designed" for men....
But it has been tweaked for women.0 -
There are strength routines, there are hypertrophy routines, there are muscular endurance routines and general fitness resistance routines. Sex shouldn't determine your programming, your goals should. Women's specific routines are just marketing...I mean really, do you think women body builders and women power lifters follow some kind of sex specific programming to get those results? No way...they follow tried and true programs that work in the specific rep ranges to achieve their desired results.
Unfortunately all of this ****ty marketing has made many women afraid of lifting anything heavier than a 5 Lb dumbbell...even though their purses are heavier than that.0 -
I don't think so. Do whatever routine that you feel suits you best. We're all humans, so it shouldn't matter0

There's no difference on how a man and lady trains. The only reason there should be a difference is if there are different goals.0
