    Hmm, this was actually a serious issue for me. I like intelligence but at the same time I like being the smartest person in the room.

    I went for someone who is smart in areas I'm dumb and dumb in areas I'm smart. Balance.

    Dumber than me in what way? I'm hella smart in a lot of ways and a complete moron in others. Would I disqualify someone because she is bad at math? No. That's stupid. Would I maybe take a pass on someone who had to wear a helmet at all times for her own protection? Of course. But that's not dumb, that is someone who is challenged. If we're talking about fully functional adults then you damned well better be sure you are mentally superior to that person in every way before you decide to start disqualifying people. If anything, I think what you're asking is if you would date someone who has similar interests.

    nope. but i can't recall having gotten within dating distance of anyone 'dumber' than me. i don't run in the same circles as folks like that and when i do happen to bump into one he'll 9 times out of 10 avoid me, saving me the trouble.
