calorie deficit question.

I know what it is , my question is on mfp it says my cal intake should be 1800 and I will loose weight even if I do not exercise , which I do about 300 to 400 cal I burn on thread mil a day, not met net cal after I put in my daily tasks I did ,goes to 1200 , now is that how many cal my body has left to use. If so should I up my intake if i want to excerise as well . I am 235 pounds 23 years old , 5ft 8in. I'm really confused about this , for the last few days I've been eating 1700 cals and burning 400 a day , is that healthy or not .

You eat the 1800 calories + the exercise calories you burn.
The 1800 already has your weight loss deficit accounted for.

this is how i explained t to my mom.
the goal is the goal. if you exercise, you get to eat those back because you burned off extra. so:

goal 1700 MINUS exercise of 150= 1550 to keep. if the goal is 1700, you gotta hit that, or close to it, so you would get to eat more. :) otherwise, if you dont, then your body didnt get to keep the 1700 it was supposed to.

MFP says your daily maintenance without exercise is 2800 (by you selecting an activity level).
MFP will subtract 1000 calories to hit your goal weight loss of 2 lbs weekly.

    2800 - 1000 = 1800 eating on non-exercise days.

You burned 400 calories in a workout, your maintenance just went up for that day.

    2800 + 400 = 3200 maintenance.

    3200 - 1000 = 2200 eating on this exercise day.

Same deficit exercise or not, and yes you eat more.

Bigger is not better, not for weight, not for deficit. Besides, do you want your workout to really have the chance to improve your body? Fuel your workouts.
