My introduction...

All,

I don't even recall how I found this site, but I suppose I was "searching for something"... Mostly it was out of desperation to look / live better than I have been!

I am a 44 y/o who is trying to non-surgically remove the "spare tire" from my life which I have been carrying around for years. I started about four days ago, and have already learned a great deal by reading other posts and seeing the advise of the community. I think the accountability of tracking EVERYTHING I eat / drink will reveal some ugly / inconvenient truths to myself that I have been denying for some time. ;)

I have (... gulp...) shared my food / exercise diary for all to see and solicit friends for advise / encouragement / horror stories / mentoring, or whatever you think is germane (go ahead - I have a pretty thick skin - I can take it.).

That's it for now....

anything you do is going to help

the only thing i would say is you need to be honest and consistent and once you do that you will see where the changes need to be made and make them

once you make the change, keep up with it, somedays it will be a slog, others it will feel easy, but after a while you will notice a difference.

keep regular measurements and photos as well, once a month and after 2-3 months you can compare and see that things are changing

and don't worry if sometimes there is little or no weight loss because your measurements and photos will show you changes and that will spur you on

    you've made the first step
    just keep on stepping
  • Weight loss is the true method where you find some real solution about your body fitness. If you do it regularly, you will find a true solution.

Glen... good point! - I will try to get some photos / measurements to serve as a baseline (besides weight).

    Thanks again!
