Protein shake recommendations (UK veggie)

Just bought New Rules of Lifting which suggests a shake after each session. I've always been sceptical of shakes but I'm willing to give them a go alongside this weight training regime.
I've noticed that most don't have a V or say 'suitable for vegetarians' but when reading the ingredients I'm at a loss to understand why. What is it that's not veggie? I'm lacto-ovo and am therefore not looking for a vegan shake... any recommendations?

Some whey is not vegetarian, as you might remember from back here when Mars tried using it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/6653175.stm
Look on Holland and Barrett - they list whether things are vegetarian.0 -

Trying again today... anyone else have any ideas/advice/suggestions?0 -

I personally like my chocolate flavored one and be careful of low 'quality' powder
