Nervous...

Good morning fellow MFPers!!

I just had a light bulb come on with the TDEE method and have just increased my calorie intake from 1650/day to 1900/day. Makes me a wee bit nervous, but the success of others following this method is overwhelming, AND I get to eat more. SCORE!!! I noticed that my weight loss had stalled with incorporating walking, and realize it's because I'm way below my BMR on these days at what I was currently eating.

I set my activity level at Moderate using the Scooby's Calculator, as I walk on the treadmill 45-60 minutes/4 to 5 days a week (desk job). My question is how long do I eat at the 1900 with potential gain or no change before I need to adjust it? Thoughts?

The first thing I would say is to not up it all at once.. I was really stressed out when I upped my calories to 1800 but just up it by like 100 or 150 every week or two until you get to 1900 and give it a chance for about 3 to 4 weeks and see how your body responds. If you dont like it or feel like your gaining, go back down again by 100 cals weekly until you find a balance.

And you said your progress has stalled, have you tried adding strength training or upping the intensity of your workouts? Incorporating the two could do a lot for jump starting everything again. Hope this helps, good luck!!

Great advice Superspork. I adjusted it to 1800 for now. I wasn't doing any exercise before, so it was when I started walking that I noticed it stalled out due to the low net calories maybe? Thank you. Anyone else have anything?
