Recommitting to Watching What I Eat

I Love to Exercise - but also Love to Eat!

The winter has seemed endless this year, and I'm working toward getting in the best shape I can be in before I hit the BIG 50 early in 2015.

Don't let anyone fool you. It does get harder as you get older to keep the weight off.
I am a fitness instructor who teaches 6-7 classes per week. And I work hard to make my classes challenging and fun. I love what I do! But just because you are a fitness instructor, it does not mean the weight just naturally stays off. Those pesky final 5 (ok maybe 10) pounds are clinging on for dear life, and I just can't seem to loose them without some significant food management. So, here I am on MFP.

I have been using MFP for the past two years as a "self checker" to keep myself in line. It especially helps during the winter months when long cold days keep me from doing as much outside activities as I would like. And when it seems to be dark more than it is light.... thank goodness that is changing for the better now!

I gave myself this past weekend to have a few favorite foods that I am going to try to avoid (limit to special treat) moving forward. Pizza, chips, cheese.... and yes WINE. Getting back to eating what my body needs, not what my cravings want. So to anyone else out there who is doing the same. Good for you!

I am not striving for the way I used to look years ago. That ship has sailed, and I'm ok with that. I am just focusing on being fit by exercising often and eating healthy. I just want to feel comfortable and confident in my clothes... and soon swim suit.
