When eyeballing measurements put a container on the scale, tare it out to 0, dump in as much as you need, weigh it again, and it will tell you how much you used.
Because sometimes you need just enough to thicken it, or just want to grab a handful or two of of spinach to toss in for color.

I also do this when making a smoothie, basically put the blender on the scale, dump in my 1.5 cups of milk, tare it, dump in the cut up banana, record that and tare, dump in the strawberries, record and tare, dump in the... this way there is only one container used, so less clean up.
