Has anyone been on a low carb diet of 50 grams or less. How were your results and when did you start noticing weight loss or inches off your body. Did your health get better etc...I'm just curious. I hear good and bad things about a low carb diet. I also exercise 5 to 6 days a week along with doing low carb lifestyle.

I eat much lower carb that you do...usually try to be under 20 net carbs but I also look more at my percentages of carbs/fats/protein to gauge how I'm doing.

I also seem to have much more weight than you do, so I can't say if low carb helped by blood pressure more than a low cal diet would have, but either way my blood pressure went down.

Low carb is the best method I've found for me to cut my calories. I don't have the discipline to limit my intake just doing low calorie. Eating higher amounts of fat keeps me full longer, which is what helps create that calorie deficit that you need to lose weight.

I would encourage you to check out the Atkins group or the Low Carb groups!

Check out the groups section for low carb groups. You'll probably find the information you seek there.

I would venture to say that low carb has helped to lower your blood pressure. I say this because my husband's old doctor had him on a controlled CALORIE way of eating and his blood pressure didn't budge.

When we moved and we got a new Dr. he suggested a "controlled carb" way of eating for my husband and it got him off his blood pressure medications.

He has stated many times that sugar is far more detrimental to the cardiovascular system than sodium is.
