Changed goal to honest, and nutrition goals changed?!?!

Started being faithful on MFP just over 2 weeks ago, and set my goal weight as my 'mini goal'. Started losing weight, and decided today to be honest - added another 45 pound loss.

And MFP changed my nutrition goals completely! Now it's high carb (50%), highish fat (30%) and low protein (20%). Seriously? I don't get it - can someone please help me unmuddle my head?

thank you!

I don't understand why they would do that but your best bet is 40/30/30 carbs fat protein and see how that works for you.

Depends on what you want. Most people think 40/30/30 split is good (it's what I do), I haven't used the MFP set macros in forever, so I couldn't tell you what they default to and why.

You just seemed super ticked that they changed it, so I gave the information that you CAN change them yourself.

When you change anything in your goals, it goes back to the default, which is 50/30/20. I think it depends on what your goals are, and what works best for your body. Personally, I'm doing some weight and bodyweight exercises, and I found that having my macros at 40/30/30 keeps me super satisfied and losing at a steady rate. I also have a mom with congestive heart failure, and I seem to be very sensitive to sodium, so I brought that number down too.

I was more totally confused that ticked

Cool - you've all helped me understand what happened & how to change it to something more reasonable.

    thanks!

it wouldn't be the healthiest but you could get all your calories from processed sugars and fats and as long at you ate at a deficit you will lose weight. Ideally part of the journey is learning to eat healthily (so balancing the macros) I use 40/30/30 now since i changed it - MFP gave me 50/30/20 originally I wanted more protein.
