High Heart Rate

I have been running for 2 years and my heart rate during my run averages 185-195 at its maximum. I am a 37 year old female and I weigh 136lbs. I run 4 miles a day, 3-4 times a week. My resting heart rate is usually 65. Why is my heart still so high when I run?

I run the same amount as you but my heart rate at it's highest is 160s and that's going up hill. but on flats it's around 145.
what device are you using to monitor your heart rate? seems a bit high unless you are just at a full sprint for 4 miles.0 -
It could be your breathing pattern ... or just a naturally high heart rate ... or a host of other issues. If your body isn't sending trouble signals such as dizziness, light headedness, shortness of breath, etc and your doctor isn't concerned I wouldn't get overly stressed.0

That does seem high; my heart rate gets up in that ballpark when I run but I'm super out of shape, and my resting heart rate is in the 90s. Do you feel really breathless when you run, like you're honestly at your limit, or is it maybe a measurement error?0

Thank you all for responding. I actually feel pretty good when I run, not very breathless, not dizzy or lightheaded. I can even have a short conversation while running if I need to. No, I'm not sprinting. It's more of a jog, 5.0-5.5 mph on a treadmill. I have a heart monitor watch that I use and I'm certain it's not the best way to determine a very accurate heart rate. Any suggestions on the best source to get an accurate reading? My doctor doesn't seem to be concerned; he just encourages me to drink plenty of water.0

If you have a good HRM, that rate could very easily be accurate ... if it's a cheap, wrist only version ...uh ... yeah.
Hydration levels can impact heart rate during exercise. Listen to your body and your doctor. As long as both of those aren't indicating problems, run on.0 -

You've answered your own question if you feel ok and your resting heart rate is fine, don't worry about it0
