What kind of Diet ??

I am eating high protein , low card diet. I am walking 3 miles each day.I need to loose over 100 lbs. Am I going about this the right way? I am just confused about which diet to follow. I google it and too confusing .... so many to try !! Somebody lead me in the right direction.Any help will be appreciated !
