Hey Guys,
I have reached my goal weight. However I recently gained a bit of it back.
Every time I come close to reaching my goal again I almost self sabotage. I don't know how else to explain it. I will just get lazy and throw away my healthy eating. And then I gain more, and lose it. Once I'm coming close to my goal I repeat.
Did this happen to anyone else?
What do you do to stop it?
Thanks! I could really use the help right now.

HI
Congratulations for your progress so far.
Body weight always have fluctuations from day to day and even within the same day. I try to weight myself at the same time once a week (i.e. one sunday morning, just after getting off bed).
If you really want to be always under certain body weight, shoot for 5 pounds less than your goal. Then the next body weight fluctuation will still stay within your desired weight range.
Please do not forget that your body becomes more metabolically efficient when you lose body weight. I mean you will have to increase your calorie burning. I increase weight lifting when I hit the "dreaded plateau".
This is a journey, not a destination.
Good luck in your healthy journey0 -
We do fluctuate, but if you self-sabotage, I'm guessing you're thinking of this as a diet, not how you're going to eat the rest of your life.
Try this . . . lose 3 pounds more than your goal. Up your calories and stick to it. Forever.
Good luck!0 -
If you have reached your goal weight (congratulations by the way!) the best way to start to increase your intake to your maintenance level is to do a reverse diet. Check out this video from Layne Norton (PhD in protein metabolism, natural body builder/powerlifter, and fitness competitor coach).

Me. I did this. I hit my weight. Was looking almost toned and then I just well got lazy. Let my self believe I was still doing good then I slacked off a little bit. Thankfully I caught it before it went too far.
How do I stop it? Not sure yet.0 -
I have this problem, too. don't think my body likes to be the weight I want it to be. I get ravenous. Too darn bad. If my body had it the way it wants it, I'd weigh 500 pounds. It will do what I tell it and hell with the hunger. Yeah, I'm grouchy. But I'm finally dragging myself back down to my original goal weight. It's horribly rough, but better than regaining.0

U need to make it your lifestyle else it will always be the case
Diets don't work in the long run . A healthy lifestyle and consistency is key0 -
For me - I had been losing weight for so long that when I hit my target - I almost was lost - I was so focused on weight loss that I think I gained a few KG back so I could re-focus on losing them again. Then I lost motivation as it felt like a merry-go -round. I have realised that I needed to have a clearer goal of what I really wanted in life. Why do I need to maintain my health re-focusing on the whys you wanted to lose weight in the first place? What is the next level on the journey rather than looking at this as a destination look for what next on the "journey" - reconnect to your aspirations and inspirations.0

This happened to me, too, but worse than that, it seemed every time I regained, I gained more around my middle, changing my proportions, and not for the better. Well, constantly gaining and losing the same pounds seemed like a good idea at the time. It sure doesn't anymore!0
