For starters, I have hypothyroidism, and I am on a perscribed diet pill called Adipex. I am not on adipex, To use as a "crutch". Due to my hypothyroidism, I have been unable to lose weight. Even tho I am on medication for hypo, I ate healthy, and exercised. Adipex is a last resort for me. It has actually helped a little, but I'm still working out 3 times a week, and watching my calorie intake. Anyway, I learned that coconut oil is a great way to jump start the thyroid, to help my metabolism work faster. Should I consult my doctor about using it first? Would it be bad for me, to have a metabolism boost, while on levothyroxine (thyroid med) and adipex? Also, I learned that hypo people can't break down carbs like everyone else. So I decided to cut carbs from my diet, as much as possible. Would this be healthy?
