And if so which are the best? My favorite are cashews but have been sticking to unsalted roasted almonds. I really enjoy trail mix as a snack and remove the MnMs. I read a lot of mixed info on nuts and how they are so good for you but high in fats/cal etc so limit your intake. Any nut gurus out there have any solid info on how to take advantage of these tasty snacks?

Good source of monounsaturated fats. Something crunchy to snack on.
That about ends their good points, in my opinion.0 -
I love having nuts in my mouth.0

lol I knew you folks couldn't resist.
monounsaturated fat is one positive so far thx Reality0 -
I love the Emerald 100 calorie packs of almonds. Lots of fun flavors. My favorite are the smoked.
Why do you remove the m&m's from your trail mix? There are like 4 m&m's in the 1/4 cup serving size... I don't think 4 m&m's will kill you or send you over your calorie goal.0 -

That about ends it for me. I am just not a fan of nuts. There are so many better snacks to eat.0 -
Love, love, love nuts! I think that I was a squirrel in a former life. Anyway, Pistachios, raw almonds, raw walnuts, peanuts (anyway but raw, and are actually not nuts but legumes)--are staples in my diet. I also love dried fruit but have to carefully measure it out. Lately I have been eating dried apricots and cranberries, often mixed with nuts for a somewhat high calorie but delicious snack.0

I eat Almonds, Pumpkin seeds, some times sunflower and sesame seeds. I usually throw them in my smoothie.0

I eat almonds, brazils and pistachios.
Different nuts have different vitamins and minerals. I find them a nice snack, and oddly, even on occasions I went totally overboard with them and blew my calorie goal, I did not gain weight.
Here is a link that goes into more detail on the benefits of each nut.

I love all nuts! Because they're so high in calories, I usually throw 1/2 a serving into a salad or on top of oatmeal.0

But not too salty i presume
I like almonds, walnuts and peacon nuts
gustaaf, I don't need the sodium so fresh ones only.0 -
Raw unsalted almonds are the best .... about 10 of them a day will be sufficient.
Add them to low fat yoghurt, some cinnamon, a teaspoon honey and you have a healthy + filling breakfast!!!0 -
Love them, find even a handful quite filling. I eat almonds, mixed nuts and trail mix with cashews...carefully measure out an exact serving so I can record properly. I also look for unsalted because I think water retention has affected my weigh-in at times. I also use them as a topping for oatmeal, Moroccan chicken etc.0

chocolate gives me headaches and the kirkland signature trail mix has a load of MnMs in it. I do enjoy wasabi almonds and the smoked bbq ones as well0

At the moment lightly salted almonds are my go-to nut snack. I eat 14 (my hubby laughs at me every time he catches me counting them lol) which is half a serving size according to the package and fills me up perfectly. If I have some extra calories for the day I'll ususaly treat myself to some.0

If I had to choose favourites, I would probably go with almonds but walnuts, sunflower seeds, roasted chestnuts and pistachios would all be ex aequo for #2.
I don't find them too filling though, so I sometimes have to eat them as a meal0 -
they're tough to fit in...too high in fat/cals for me0
-
Trail mix is just M&M's with obstacles.0
-
I eat them pretty much every day. Even though as they say, you are what you eat.0
