Holy cow...
I got my first Non Scale Victory this week. I have been on my journey of getting healthier and losing weight since the beginning of January, this year. I had an ACL and Meniscal Reconstruction in September of last year so this January was the first chance that I had to be able to get moving again. I began running small distances and increasing intervals as I had been before I tore out my knee last January, and after logging around 15 miles/week consistently, I have felt pretty proud of myself. Nothing compared to this little NSV though...
This weekend, a friend of a friend was in town chaperoning a high school sports trip. I went to high school with this girl, and have always looked up to her as she was a hardcore high school and college track and basketball star, and always considered very athletic. We ended up being in the same place for dinner on Friday night because of our mutual friend and she said the following awesome statement to me:
"I've seen that you have been running quite a bit and was wondering if you had any favorite trails that I could try while I am in town..."
I was so proud that I was able to point out not 1, but 4 separate awesomely challenging run spots and talk athletics with a girl I consider a super star. WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!
