Shoes reco

Hi.. I just joined MFP and motivated to lose weight. I do not run quite often. I have started walking 20min a day.. and some light stretching at home. My feet hurt in current shoes and need to buy good shoes so I can do cardio at home. Any recommendations will help. I plan to do 30 min cardio at home on my floor mat and occasional walk with my kid in stroller.

Can you do 30-day Shred kind of training in Running shoes?
Thanks!

Hi I am 74 pounds overweight so I need really cushioned, squishy shoes. I almost always wear Skecher's Shape Ups, I have their great running shoes (mine are black with a white stripe). They are not cheap but you can buy them online so, easily. I recommend them with a lot of enthusiasm, because I wear Shape Ups most of the time. I have them in other styles as well because, now I am really uncomfortable in shoes with less cushion. Having said that, however, different running shoe brands are known for fitting better on different foot types, so I hope you will find the ones that fit your type of foot the best.

I suggest going to a running store and have them evaluate your needs. They can give you much better recomendations than someone who knows noting about YOUR feet. They well measure more things on your feet than you knew there were to measure, as well as watch your gait and how your foot fall both barefoot and with multiple types of shoes. The service is usually free

If you aren't accustomed to exercise your feet will hurt no matter what shoe you use. Just buy a decent pair of trainers that fit. If you start running distance then go to a running store and get properly fitted, though I've personally never had any luck with that and ended up going minimalist. Your feet will strengthen.
