Not losing any weight but body fat percentage down 5%

Hi, I have been going to the gym three times a week and eating healthy within my calorie range most days and I have not lost even an ounce of weight but my body fat has gone down by 5% and my clothes are starting to feel looser. Has anyone else noticed the same?

    Great - keep going.

The weight should start to follow the body composition change.

Depending on your starting point, the weight lose may seem slower. But if you are physically seeing and feeling positive results - keep doing it.

I was the same (and still am - I can sometimes see my weight plateau, but my belt is still getting looser).

How much you loose and the speed of the lose is not an exact science.

Sometimes awesome takes a bit longer to arrive.

Great thanks for your reply. I was worried about getting demotivated when the scales weren't moving but the bodyfat loss has made me feel better.

Similar to me! My weight read 600g HEAVIER this week, however BF% was down half a percent, and checked my waist measurement and it's decreased too. So important to use multiple tools to track progress. Keep up the awesome work :)

That is amazing! Losing body fat is better than losing pounds. Go by how you look and how you feel!

    Are you bragging or complaining???

In all seriousness good on you...weigh from a scale is often not the best measure it can fluctuate a lot...water weight, scale in a different spot...

Rely on BF% and inches instead.

    +1

Or better yet, rely on the mirror. Don't like what you see? Change something and keep working. :flowerforyou:

This is common with body recomposition. How are you measuring BF%? If it is with a bioimpedance scale, just know that there is a lot of variation in the readings and increased water weight (which is common to get after starting a new training program) will decrease the BF%. Being consistent with when you weigh/measure will be key.

Good news is, that you are losing fat despite the scale not moving and that is a great thing. Keep measuring and tracking your progress!
