I'm drowning!

I know that there are so many people that is on here that have shed twice as much weight as I want to shed. For some reason I can't find my way. The more I try the more I fail. I'm totally lost for words because I'm really tired of being sick and tired. I don't know what to do. I'm trying so hard but my will power is at an all time low. I eat when I'm sad... I eat when I'm happy... I just eat. I have had the desire to lose the same 60 plus pounds for years but I never do. I'm so unhappy. I find myself smiling these days not because I'm happy but because that is what people expect for me to do. Have anyone experienced this before and if so, how can I overcome it?

You have to look in the mirror and decide that you are worth it! You can do this, it's not about dieting it's about a lifestyle change so that you don't turn to food when you are emotional.
I am also an emotional eater but I have decided that it is worth the bit of time that I spend planning meals and educating myself. You are totally worth the effort!
This has been the easiest way that I have found to lose weight. No yo yo or fad diets just plain healthy eating and tracking food.
Get up and dust yourself off ... you have what it takes to do it! :flowerforyou:0 -
Thank you for such kind words ...I'm just feeling kind of down but I will take your advice. :flowerforyou:0

Also, make small goals for yourself. Instead of "wanting to lose 60 pounds" say to yourself "I am GOING to lose 20 pounds". Smaller goals will be more easily attainable because they don't feel as daunting. Reaching 15-20 pounds will happen faster than losing 60 pounds, and you will gain a sense of accomplishment with reaching your goal. Then, once you see results and feel the awesome feeling of being fitter/not as tired, it will be easier to keep going.
You can look into resources/books/online articles for emotional eating as well. Understand that you are not alone, nothing is "wrong" with you, and that you CAN overcome this but it just takes practice.
I just wanted to add that you're gorgeous0 -
I have spent many years gaining and losing weight. Finally last year, at my heaviest I decided enough is enough. I don't care how long it takes me this weigh will come off. I will not see that weight again. I think you just have to keep trying. There will be good days and bad days. I don't think about losing 100+ pounds. I think about losing 5 pounds 20+ times. You also have to do it for yourself and change your thinking. I have been reading a lot of positive thinking books and trying to change my mind set. You really do need to give yourself some positive thinking. Keep smiling because it will be real again. Fake it till you make it.
It will be all right. The only way to truly fail is to just give up completely.0 -
