Washing cottage cheese and nutritional value

I hope this doesn't sound like a silly question but i want to make sure I am accurately recording my food.
I always rinse (wash) my cottage cheese under water so that all that is left is the chunks of curd. I only do this because I don't like the taste of it with all the liquid in it. Does doing this affect the calorie/fat numbers?

I have never heard of someone doing this before. I wish I could answer your question, but I am mind-blown from you washing your curds.0

It may sound weird but I do like the protein that cottage cheese has to offer but I don't like the taste at all with the liquid in it. The curds alone don't really have much flavour so what i will do is add some fruit to it and it actually tastes really good. They actually sell block cottage cheese that has even more of the liquid pressed out,but i find that too dry.0 -
I have never thought to do that or considered that the curds taste any different the the little bit of liquid in which they sit. But I always say, do what works for you. I don't think you can know what difference it makes nutritionally, but just take any less calaories or salt you omit that way as a bonus. It's not like you'll get getting more than you log. Although I would definitley weigh it before you rinse and drain because the liquid is certainly less calorie dense than the actual curds. And if you're not weighing it, your measuring accuracy is way off anyway.0

Have you tried dry cottage cheese? It's just the curds without the liquid. I've never heard of the block of cottage cheese but it sounds incredibly dry!
I'm not a fan of the liquid in cottage cheese either so I stick to No Name 2%. It has the least amount of liquid out of any brand I have tried.0
