Targeted Areas for Fat Loss

I was wondering if anyone might have any tips on how to lose from specific areas? I need to lose quite a bit of weight to get to a healthy BMI, and I know that I can't do that without having to lose weight from all over, however there are still some of my features that I'm quite fond of as they are now and I'd prefer to lose more from certain areas than others. Is this possible or will I have to strength train to build areas back up that I've lost fat from?

If you are an Apple, Pear, or Hourglass shape, you will retain it. You will just be smaller.

Sad news is you can't spot reduce fat. Where you lose is purely genetic. I do think it's a good idea to do some form of resistance training ( like weight lifting or body weight exercises) to help maintain muscle, which will help you look leaner as you lose.

We can choose on the body where we want to gain/build muscle but unfortunately we can't choose on the body where we want to lose/remove fat...well...unless it's liposuction which is whole other topic.

Continue maintaining a calorie deficit to lose the weight...consider incorporating weight/resistance training to build muscle which will help (in my opinion).

Best of luck with your goals.

Unfortunately, I'm none of those. I'm an inverted triangle, my shoulders are much wider than my hips and having thick arms makes them look wider yet. I really want to target from my upper body and belly to help proportion out a little.
