It's been a rough week for me, and I'm lacking motivation.

This week has been crazy at work! I've been so busy, and people at the office are bringing in treats everywhere, and it seems I haven't had enough time to work out like I want to, and when I come home I just veg out because I'm so exhausted.
Any tips/pointers/words of advice/support/motivating words from anyone out there? :P

You can totally do it!
Sometimes the hardest thing is probably resisting what's right in front of you. Maybe try keeping a healthy snack at work that seems like a "cheating" snack... for me it would be popcorn or some 100 calorie pack of cookies... so when the temptation comes you have something else that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Some days will just be harder than others but you can do it!! You've already lost 6 pounds. That's awesome!! Keep it up!!0 -
First of all, you can do this. Just because you had a rough week doesn't mean that everything you have done is for naught. Don't throw it all away.
Second, make sure that you pack enough food for you and that you are eating something every 3 hours so that you don't get too hungry. Buy some good protein bars so that when everyone else is having a doughnut or whatnot, you can enjoy your "treat" and know that it is helping you and not hindering you.
Third, you gotta make time to exercise. If you can't wake up early or do it when you get home, then at least pick up a pedometer and put it on and try to walk a certain amount of steps during your lunch.
Weight loss is not the easiest thing. If it were, we would all be skinny. But the hard work is worth it!0 -
Oh, this sounds too familiar, BOGmama has the right idea about the pedometer. Up until last year, I worked retail, and would come home exhausted, wearing one at work and seeing how much I did there helped keep me motivated.
I also love bringing the prepackaged snacks with me for work or meetings. I have an easier time because that 100 calorie bag of oreos is "a whole bag".
This too shall pass!0 -
Ok so I had a rough week last week - in and out of hospital with attacks, way too many steroids had to be taken etc etc. I could have flaked but I kept telling myself that the old me would have looked for an excuse, said I was having a rough week and used it as a means to cheat or give in. You can do this chick - we're all here. My trainer tells me if I wake up feeling exhausted drink a black coffee ( just the one cup) although I have never had to do this, it will give you the oomph to get through that work out then have a nice big meal full of protein after and you will start to feel better and get back to how you felt before.
Sending massive hugs and oodles of PMA your way xxx0 -
Sorry to hear you had a bad week. Just start over! I had bad weeks myself... You can push through them!
I agree with everybody about planning the meals ahead of time. You've lost 6 lbs already - wow, that's fantastic. Keep it up! I have been on MFP for about 3,5 months or so. It was hard in the beginning with both food and exercise. But it will get better. Soon you will figure out what works best and know yourself better... Exercise - there is no easy way, just do it! It is hard to believe, but the exercise does actually give you energy! Good luck, don't give up Start with small steps if you have to, but keep doing something Even little things count and help you get into the routine..0
