I have lost the lbs and now I want the MUSCLE. I lift heavy and I must say I'm extremely impressed with my upper body, however, the lower body is so SLOW to respond (about a year into heavy lifting). I do not eat back my exercise calories, therefore I'm operating at a deficit. I eat clean (no processed foods, fast foods, etc.). Should I be eating them back to gain the muscle mass for a tight bum-bum and creating more defined glutes and quads? I realize the lower body is the hardest and takes the longest because it is the largest muscle group but DAMN.
Advice, please and thanks!

If you want to gain muscle, you need to set at a surplus. You'll gain some fat, too. Or, you could eat at maintenance and continue to lift heavy going for a recomp and losing the last bit of fat and maybe adding some muscle, but, from my understanding, that is a very slow process.0
