Losing weight with an injury

Anyone have advice on how to lose weight while you are suffering from an injury? I have been diagnosed with sciatica. I have a nerve that is pinched in my left leg. I'm on painkillers and trying to walk some, but it is not enjoyable at all right now. I guess I am just going to have to rely on eating healthy until I get my steroid injection in a month.

You can't outrun your diet - most of weight loss is in the kitchen not the gym - do what you can and eat the best that you can and the weight will come off.

You just have to create a deficit.

How about something in the water? It seems like the water would allow the opportunity for you to get a lot of exercise and not stress your back or legs, I would think that the buoyancy would be easy on your body.
    Just a thought...
