How do you guys not procrastinate about exercising?

When I first started exercising, I would lay out my exercise clothes before bed and then I'd wake up at 5am, get dressed and go out before I even had time to talk myself out of it.
After 2 months my schedule changed (daughter started pre-k). So now I work out while she's in school. Her pre-k is at the gym (YMCA), so while she's there, I'm there. I'm not working out the entire time, that'd be kind of overkill, but it's some much needed 'me' time to do whatever I want.
Also, I picked activities I TRULY TRULY TRULY love and enjoy. Walking, hiking, Zumba, Swimming. I'm lucky that my gym is close to a hiking trail, so all the stuff I enjoy doing, is pretty much right where my gym is at, or offered at my gym. Exercising has pretty much become 2nd nature now. Once you make a habit of it, it truly becomes habit.0 -
If you workout as soon as your feet hit the floor, you don't have time to procrastinate. The rest of the day you feel good because you did it. and you don't have to keep thinking about the fact that a you haven't done it yet. This helps me... might do the same for you
This. I'm a full time working mom to a busy toddler, but I make the time at 4:30 am to get my workouts done first thing in the morning. It has become just another part of my routine. Habit. Just go through the motions for a while, no matter how much you don't feel like it, and it'll eventually become your new normal.0 -
I schedule my workouts. It's not about "hey I'll do some random exercise" today.0

Find a workout group / buddy / class. That way if you don't go, you are not just letting yourself down, you're letting the whole group down. Works for me!0

My goals are what stops me from procrastinating. Although, there are sometimes when I wake up a 5am and my body just tells me no.
Maybe try joining a gym. If you are paying for something, you may not procrastinate as much. Some gyms even offer classes like mine, which also force me to be on time for my morning Spin class 2x week
Or if you know someone who is or wants to start doing the same as you then partner up!0 -
I'm hungry. I know if I work out, I can eat some/all of those exercise calories I've burned. I want to eat so I work out.
Ok. Well sometimes it's just a matter of reminding myself I don't want to give an inch on the progress I've made.
This is EXACTLY how I feel. If I work out hard and I burn a lot! I can eat half those calories so I could have more protein or max a bit on some nummy fruit0 -
When i did my pre-wedding workout in 2011 i was very lucky i found an old friend who loved running and we teamed up 3times a week for several weeks. She kept me going, and although we were friends i always kept thinking WOW if she can do it, so can I!! So having accountability with someone helps a lot.
When I don't work my 1yr old daughter keeps me in check LoL i know I have to workout ASAP before she wakes up, and when I do work, I try to workout as soon as I get home before my hubby gets home lol ,
Even on the weekends i think about quickly getting out of bed before hubby fully wakes up.
I had many excuses before but now i'm trying to be.and stay more focused and on getting back to healthy.
So try to find someone in your life that can keep you in check. You'll feel amazing. I LOVE the.high that I get.from all.those endorphins LoL0 -
Accountability is good. I make a point of telling my boyfriend I'm going to run in the morning. It's much harder to hit that snooze button and go back to sleep when he's saying, "I thought you were going for a run today?". I'm too stubborn to be called out, so I get right up and get my running shoes on!0

I have a whole bunch of short workout videos saved in my favorites on Fitness Blender. I require myself to do just one--just 5 or 10 minutes and I don't have to leave the house... I can do that! It almost always turns into several.
I also started downloading audiobooks from my library and I only listen when I'm outside walking. It's been very cold the past few days and I'm anxious to know what happens next in my book. It's supposed to be warmer today, so I get to find out! Walking is an AWESOME exercise for someone trying to get started. I'm usually sore all over after a long one.0
