I'm new to myfitnesspal, and so far, I LOVE IT! It makes it easy to enter food intake & workouts, and it does all the math for me. I wish I would have discovered it sooner!
About 2 years ago, I started changing my eating habits (cutting out fast food, cooking more nutritious meals at home, drinking more water, and cutting back on salt). I didn't lose much weight, but then, I also wasn't working out on a regular basis. In Jan'09, I had a major surgery that changed my outlook on things and made me re-prioritize. My health became top priority, and since then I have step by step tried to improve my habits and way of thinking.
Since my surgery, I managed to lose 35 lbs! I jump started my weighloss with the Southbeach diet, and maintained my weightloss with nutritional eating, watching carbs, and a regular workout plan. I also stopped drinking my calories (by only drinking lots of water/calorie free drinks and limiting diet soda). I've drifted a little away from my regular workout plan, due to summer vacations and parties, but I'm getting back into the swing of things.
Now it's time for the next phase of my get-in-shape plan! I have another 35 lbs to lose to have a healthy BMI, and that is my goal. I like the sound of losing 34 lbs for my 34th birthday, so I have until Jan'11, and I know I can do it! By using myfitnesspal, continuing to eat healthy, and recently joining a 24Fitness gym, I'm pumped to acheive my goal!!!
