Any advice on how to calculate this? I feel like MFP is not calculating my daily goal correctly. I know I'm suppose to eat back the calories that I burn.
I would like to calculate my BMR and compare it to MFP. Anyone know the BMR formula? Thanks!!!

I believe there are medical tests that will accurately calculate your individual BMR, but otherwise the generic BMR formulae are just an estimation. Google "BMR" and you can find a formula, but just take it as a guideline. You may have a slower or faster BMR.0

That's the one I use.0 -
For a woman harris benedict formula is approximately:
BMR = 655+(4.35*Weight in lbs)+(4.7*Height in inches)-(4.7*Age in years)
Your BMR changes every time you lose/gain weight and as you get older.0 -
I've used the tools & calculators linked here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/974888-in-place-of-a-road-map-2k13
Have had great success since doing so - along with following the advice in that topic. :bigsmile:0 -
MFP takes your BMR based on the Mifflin St. Jeor formula, then it adds a multiplier for how active you are in your daily life (not including specific exercise).
Two other BMR formulas are the Harris Benedict and Katch McCardle. The Katch McCardle is said to be more accurate for those who are not obese because it also uses body fat % in the formula.0 -
Thanks y'all for the advice!!!! I'm looking at those links now.0
