I got a fitbit one and Polar H7 HR monitor in January. I like both, but for what you are doing, the HR monitor is what you would want for your hockey games. I use it for any strenuous activities and track my workouts thru Sports-tracker. It will sync with MFP, if you use the Polar App, but I had issues, you may not? The fitbit gives you an idea and goal of your normal daily activity, but it's not really good for much more than logging steps, stairs, sleep, & calories since it interacts with MFP. It may sound like I'm downplaying the fitbit, but I haven't been without mine since I got it.0

You could also look at something like the Garmin Vivofit or Polar Loop. Both do similar tracking like a Fitbit but can be used with a HRM strap for exercising.0
