this is really hard!

Hi everyone, before I start, I know that my weight loss goal isn't as drastic as others... but trying to lose 10-15 lbs. has always been a struggle for me. I am currently (I think 139) but my ideal / healthy/happy weight is 125.... but I would settle for even 130. I am 5'5" with most of the weight around my stomach/legs and face. My problem isn't just the way I look and feel, but health. I am type 1 diabetic on insulin pump and controlling my blood sugar has always been a nightmare. I guess I just want to hear from other people like me that are struggling with 10-20 pounds. My big problem is that I love food but really I LOVE CARBS! I love bread and sugar and I don't exercise (typical). Just want some support and love :-).

Big 'ole slightly less fat but diabetic too. YOU MUST EXERCISE. It stabilizes your blood sugar. So does eat beans so try to eat 1 cup a day.

As for carbs trying aramath, quinoa, and STEEL cut oatmeal, the kind that takes 20 minutes to cook and what tastes kind of nutty. Not that usual wallpaper paste tasting slop stuff.

Good for you for catching it this thin.

Yeah, the pounds closest to the bone are the worst, aren't they? You're so smart to be in this for your health, and that is certainly my reason, too. You mention bread, and I know that it's a trigger for me, so I keep my distance from it. When I started this most current weight-loss, I made two changes from what I had tried in the past: (1) incorporated consistent exercise into my day, and (2) took bread out of my diet. I noticed immediately that my weight loss picked up significantly. That has motivated me and made bread less appealing. I'm certainly not perfect, as just last week I took my husband out to birthday dinner and ate two pieces of bread -- but this is a rare occasion. And, I have to admit, I have had dreams about bread!

Well, you have lots of company here. Truth is if you REALLY stick to the plan, log everything, and do some exercise you can lose those 10 or 15 pounds. But its not easy. You have to make up your mind your going to do it. At least that's what I keep telling myself!!!
