lower back cramps

I just started working out seriously last week. Cardio circuit training 3 days a week and weight circuits 2 days a week at a gym - 45 minute classes. The last couple days I have been getting lower back cramps during my workouts. I don't really think it's from being dehydrated, I drink quite a bit of water a day...well ok maybe 50 - 60 ounces depending. So not great but not bad. Any thoughts on other causes? Besides simply being out of shape. Anything I should do to avoid them?
