Can't stop worrying

I've gained like a kg for around 2 week. At first I know that it's water retention from the sore muscle after the sore muscles are gone my weight dropped but went straight up again the following day and has stayed there since then. there is a day or two that my weight drop for 0.5kg but the next day it goes straight back up. I definitely did not overeat, but I can't help myself thinking if I've been eating the wrong maintenance calorie and having the urge to lower my maintenance calorie intake. I just can't stop worrying... Help! How to determine if I'm actually eating the right maintenance calorie?! It's just not easy to maintain weight...
Should I just try to lose the 1kg and restart to find my maintenance calorie? I am worrying because I am scared that the gaining of weight trend may continue...

I try to hover plus or minus 5 pounds. My goal is 115lbs. I'm currently 114lbs but if I was 116lbs next week, I wouldn't worry about it. Try to weigh yourself in the morning naked before you eat after you use the bathroom once a week. Hope that helps.

My weight went up four pounds since going to "maintaining weight" and has now leveled off. I lost 90 pounds so was a bit terrified to see the scale creeping up. Just give your body time to settle into the new regimen. I know it's difficult but try to be patient and not worry so much.

  • A year ago I lost 8 kilos for my wedding, on my wedding day I weighed 54 kilos! I now weigh 59 kilos - so have gained back 5 kilos and feeling terrible. Everyday I stick to 1200 calories, then on weekends I pretty much eat whatever I want. I need to be stricter on weekends but it's so hard!

Did you manage to maintain your weight doing that? I just stick to eating the same calories everyday to find out my maintenance calorie.

    Hiya.

I do similar but 1500 in week (plus any extra I earn via Fitbit stats) then eat more at w/e. Try higher than 1200, that's awfully low for a maintainer and you may be less likely to eat everything in sight at w/e.

At w/e I am more active but still eat more than I earn to use up my deficit earned M-F, I would say though that when I eat what I like at w/e as opposed to just eating more than usual I generally have to chase it back down eventually. Eat more at w/e but not MUCH more is my mantra for this week.

I know your post wasn't to me but....Yes, I've been eating 1500ish in week (see my post above) and more at w/e and it works just fine. I'm only 5'2.5 so not tall but still lost at 1400, no need to be too drastic if you're up and about (I'm not an exercise machine, just active by using Fitbit stats).

I think one of the pitfalls of entering maintenance is picking A SINGLE number. I have a 4-5 pound range. And that range is needed because fluctuations are just a normal part of life.

I'm 5'2.5 too! But I have no idea if I will be losing at 1400 because I didn't count calories at all when I was losing weight.

Then how do you know it's not that you've been eating the wrong maintenance calorie?

You go by the pattern, not individual weights. Use trendweight.com or similar to see how it pans out. I believe there is an app called Libra which is similar

Pattern? How do you consider it as weight gain? Constant increase in weight??

I'm 5'3" and currently weigh 124lbs. In January 2013 I started out at 167lbs and lost down to 120lbs. By November 2013. I started into maintenance and gained 4lbs due to water and glycogen stores being replenished. My clothes still fit the same. My weight fluctates daily. Maintenance is tricky. Give yourself a 3-5lb cushion. :flowerforyou:
