Fell off the wagon and broke my ankle!

I am back on here after a few months off during which time I broke a bone in my ankle while exercising at the gym!!!
In that time I have put on over a stone and need to get back under control, allowed back to the gym now but no high impact stuff so I have had my first session with a PT to get a programme that I can do without damaging the ankle anymore and the physio says I can try running for 10 minutes at the weekend.
Wish me luck to get rid of this 14lbs and my attempt to run 10K by July.

My advice: strength train. I shattered every bone in my ankle 8 months ago, in addition to tearing every ligament and severe soft tissue and nerve damage (translation: I broke my foot off my leg). I can't testify to what it's like to come back from a less severe ankle break, but I still cannot run or jump 8 months later, but I am significantly stronger and my recovery has come along faster and better than if I had just gone through PT alone. Despite all my efforts, I probably won't run for at minimum another year, if ever. You may want to rethink the 10k if you have issues with high impact on the ankle.0
