If you are really out of shape, start with walking on the treadmill.

Great start! Eating is key to weight loss and exercise is an added bonus.

I started out just walking when I first lost weight. I started out slow and 30 minutes and increase speed and distance over time

There are tons of at home DVDs and some cheap easy to start with ones (you will be very sore when starting) are the Jillian Michael DVDs and they are only $10 at Target or Walmart. You will need dumbbells.

There are also tons of online workouts and also if you have cable, there are programs on there. You will have to check all that out and find something you like to do and are able to do.

Invest $30 in the book Convict conditioning by Paul Wade.
Within you'll find 6 different exercises broken into 10 steps each.
As you follow the exercise progression, you'll become stronger and naturally lean out.

That first 10lbs you've lost in 2 weeks, thats normal for most people starting this journey.
Fat loss is rarely a linear thing so be aware that you'll lose "weight" then stop for a while, then lose again.

By creating a stronger body, and progressing through a program that puts you under more tension under time, you'll adapt and the fat will come off.

Be sure you are eating correctly and if you need any tips, check out the following link:
