I just lost my job because the company I work for can't afford to pay us, plus I will probably have to put my dog of 15 years, who has been my best friend and has followed me around my house since she was a puppy, to sleep this week. I am a big time stress eater and can really use some suggestions, ideas and words of encouragement to help prevent the overeating. Thanks for the help.

Sorry to hear about your pup. :\ I can't imagine...

Sometimes I'm a stress eater too. Instead of pulling something frozen and full of crap out of the freezer like I used to, I've been getting into cooking everything myself. I figure it will keep me busy, focused, and healthier of course.

I have a sweet tooth when I'm upset or stressed so this section of myrecipes.com is a life saver.

They have under 300 calorie meals too.

    Hope this helps.

Sorry for your losses!!! :flowerforyou:

I lost my job last year and have many BIG Life issues going on right now too. :grumble:

When the Stress Monkey attacks, I keep it in a healthy range of options.........
DO NOT go to the candy & soda & crappy nutritional choices which will only make the moods worse.
AVOID white flour & white sugar products.... always!

Some good quality chocolate, a handful of nuts, a FEW healthy chips or crackers w/ some nut butter.

Carrots & snap pea pods with hummus dip (Trader Joe's), satisfy that urge to "crunch".......

PORTION CONTROL is the key to not going nutz. Measure out a snack & then put away the rest!

And Get Active!.... walk, work out, get busy on a hobby that occupies the hands & mind.

Best of luck! Take good care of yourself! :drinker:
