Hitting the road

The season is here....we photograph horse shows all over the US and our travels start next week. The big challenge is going to be to eat sensible and healthy while ewe are gone. Having our trailer really helps as we cook our own meals but with 14 hour days, all standing, exercise might be a little tough..

I'll let you know how it goes...any suggestions?

Hmmm, sounds as if you're used to cooking, so I'll just echo that as good practice, and encourage you to plan grocery store stops to ensure you're fixing real food (we end up leaning heavily on deli turkey/ham for sandwiches: quick/low-fuss).

You're describing long days, so not sure if this is workable: use a phone app (MapMyRun/Strava/etc) to get in some walking during "down" time. Or maybe get a Fitbit or other pedometer so you have a good idea of what you're burning while working. You might just be pleasantly surprised. This may be a season of longer slower "workouts" via work rather than focused bursts of set-aside time. Nothing wrong with that!

In any case, there's nothing quite like being on the road - enjoy!

Well, you've got a great advantage that you can cook. That solves the food part. As for exercise, you're already standing for 14 hrs a day, so you don't need much and could probably use to eat 100-300 cals more per day. In terms of exercise, why not do a short circuit training next to your trailer in the morning? You can design it yourself and believe me 15 minutes of proper circuit will leave you breathless. Look up how to put it together
