I'm planning on doing 14 days of sticking to my nutrition plan to a T because I think it'll help me focus and shed a little unwanted body fat. Anyone want to join my for the 2 weeks? I'm planning on starting Monday the 24th as I want to prepare the 2 weeks of recipes ahead of time and it fits my schedule well. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like to do it too so we can help each other stay accountable!

Wow, probably could have checked the topic title before posting 14 days no cheat meals! Just coming up with my meal plan now, excited to rock the 2 weeks!0
-
What happens at the end of those two weeks?0

I plan on tracking the results over the two weeks and then making adjustments if needed. I think having a short time frame makes it less daunting. You can do anything for 14 days, right?0

I guess I'm just curious why people have cheat meals in the first place. Like, if your diet is so strict you can only go 14 days without breaking your self-imposed rules....well why not just make more reasonable and flexible rules in the first place? It seems illogical to me, and I just don't understand why that mindset of "off" or "on" the wagon would be desirable. Surely aiming for moderation is more sustainable in the long term? And then you get the feeling of satisfaction because you never need to worry about cheating on anything!0

Stop trying to be sensible, no more internet for you!0 -

Some use cheat meals as excuses when they go off plan. "Oh, yeah, I ate 1,486 extra calories. Guess I'll count this as a cheat day." Some people need rigid structure in order to even start developing self control. That's what this little friendly competition is all about. Stay on point for two weeks without going off the MFP reservation. I see nothing wrong with it. Maybe it's a man thing.0

Like BigTireFlippe said, some people, including me at times, just needs an extra little push to stay on track. If you don't, that's great for you, but for some people it can help a lot. It's about developing good habits and having other people to support you while doing it.0

I haven't done a cheat meal in over a year...
no need to...I fit in what I want to eat...and if it's a "special occassion" I allow for maintenance...
this way I don't derail over one meal/one day...0 -

This is what I have done for 22 months. It has worked well.0 -

good luck op, im not as determined as you so wont be joining you!0 -
i like the idea behind this.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson does this, although on a far larger scale. very strict control of his diet for months... and then he celebrates with an epic cheat meal.

Ha, i don't know if I'll earn that kind of a cheat meal after only two weeks, that was pretty epic! But I'm excited to get started on Monday. I have everything planned out and will be getting the rest of what I need today/tomorrow!0
-
Yes. I need to join this, lol. Must stop the cheat meals.0

I know I'm looking forward to the extra push to focus on eating clean!0

Well I never said I'd eat clean. But I won't use excuses to overeat... lol.0
