I'm eating gluten free pasta and want to know, for tracking purposes, do I measure it uncooked or cooked?

Pasta is best weighed uncooked because it never seems to absorb the same amount of water twice in a row.

This is more difficult when you cook the pasta for more than one person, in which case I tend to weigh it all uncooked and all after cooking to get an accurate figure for the difference
  • Perfect, thanks for letting me know! :)

You don't measure, you weigh. What does the package/box say? I think it is usually weight uncooked but I could be wrong.

    Always weigh it uncooked.

And if cooking for multiple people, the trick is to weigh it all dry, then weigh it cooked and divide by the portions.
