HELP! The fried chicken smell is driving me insane!

I live in the basement with my grandmother (at the moment). I was feeling really satisfied that I was not hungry and I am under today's calories. As I was messaging my lovely MFP peeps my grandma decides to zap in her store bought fried chicken.

I am now smelling the awful temptation of grease wafting all over the basement and into my room. My mouth is watering craving for unwanted salt. I'm chugging H2O in hopes that will dilute my cravings. So tempted to taste pure salt---just because of this darn tempting smell!

My question is does this happen to you and if so what smell triggers you to a mouth watering temptation?

Yes it does happen to me. Usually its when I'm close to a steak house or pizza place. I've been told drinking a lot of water can help with the cravings so maybe try that, but it's never really helped me.

Maybe it's bad.. but I just give in! just as long as fried chicken isn't a daily thing for you, I think it would be okay.

True but the even worse news is that she ate all of the fried chicken she didn't leave a drum stick for me!

I'll stick to the water method cuz I need to get my 8 glasses logged in lol
  • I don't live in a basement but do get smells from the kitchen wafting upstairs that drive me insane with food-lust. Some of the more prominent mouth watering triggers for me are.. Frying garlic, Marmite in all forms, pizza, cheese, baked potatoes and hot sauces (Encona and Cottage Delight).. I should stop or I'll be drooling soon just thinking about those.
